Many customers such as government agencies desire their websites to be optimized for users with disabilities. The two standards for optimizing website content are Section 508 and the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
In 1998, Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act to require Federal agencies to make their electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities.
